Best Beaches in Hawaii: Ko Olina Lagoons

Ko Olina Lagoons are quintessential tropical beaches They have…

  • soft white sand
  • warm turquoise water
  • palm trees
  • grassy lawns

Plus, all four Ko Olina lagoons are separated from the open ocean by rock walls creating calm coves and pocket beaches. This makes for excellent swimming and snorkeling. It’s also a wonderful environment for children.

Although the lagoons are calm, remember, you are still in an ocean. Listen to the lifeguards and stay away from the channels between the rock walls and the open ocean. Currents are strong there.

If you want to venture beyond the lagoons there is a marina at Ko Olina where you’ll find a number of recreational boat excursions including:

  • snorkel tours
  • dolphin and whale watching trips
  • sport fishing charters
  • catamaran sailing tours
  • sunset cruises
  • boat charters
