Yin and Yang Beach Destinations: Wailea Beach and Little Beach – Maui, Hawaii

Wailea Beach is a well-known Maui beach fronted by two luxury hotels, the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea. Little Beach is also a well-known Maui beach for a much different reason. It’s one of Maui’s two nude beaches. The other is Red Sand Beach in remote Hana. You should know that public nudity is illegal in Maui, however, the law is rarely enforced at Little Beach.

The physical distance between Wailea Beach and Little Beach is tiny since they’re less than 3 miles apart, or approximately a 5 minute drive.

Wailea Beach

Wailea Beach happens to be one of my personal favorite beaches. There are numerous activities and amenities available at the beach in addition to the fact that it’s simply a beautiful beach.

Little Beach

Little Beach is part of Makena State Park along with Big Beach and Black Sand Beach. Little Beach is the smallest of the 3 beaches, but because it is a nude beach it’s the most crowded since virtually everyone who wants to nude sunbathe goes there. The good news is that it attracts few gawkers and is generally a laid back place for all visitors.
