The Maldives are world renowned for their beautiful beaches but because they’re so remote from much of the developed world, people often have a lot of questions and misconceptions.
Some of the most common questions are…

Where is Maldives Beach?
Maldives Beach is a misnomer. The Maldives are a chain of 26 islands in the Indian Ocean southwest of India and Sri Lanka. In other words, it’s not a single beach. It’s many beaches located on 26 separate islands. The area is more commonly referred to as The Maldives, although its official name is the Republic of Maldives.
When is the best season to visit the Maldives?
The Maldives’ climate is characterized as tropical monsoon. Because of the islands’ location near the equator, temperatures don’t change much from season to season, but rainfall does. For example, the warmest month (on average) is April with an average high of 88.9ºF (31.6ºC) and November is the coolest with an average high of 86.2ºF (30.1ºC). The driest month (on average) is February with an average of 1.5 inches of rain (38.1 mm) and the wettest is November with an average of 9.1 inches of rain (231.1 mm)

Why does Maldives Beach glow?
Bioluminescent plankton in the warm coastal water are the reason Maldives beaches often seem to glow.
I want to stay at a Maldives beach resort. Can you recommend one?
The Maldives is home to many of the world’s best (and most expensive) resorts. In fact, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, stayed at Cheval Blanc Randheli on their 2014 vacation to the Maldives.
The resorts that top the “best lists” year after year are…

What is there to do in the Maldives other than relax on the beach?
The majority of things to do in the Maldives are ocean related. That’s why people go there after all. But that’s not all there is to do, especially if you travel to the capital city of Male.
