Beach Personality: Beautiful, Remote and Unspoiled

Ban Mai Beach

Ban Mai Beach is a 1.5-mile stretch of sand that is the last (furthest from Qui Nhon) of three coves. The palm fringed beach is blessed with soft brown sugar sand and crystal clear azure water. It’s a pristine jewel of a beach where one can sense what it must have been like to stumble upon an uncharted beach.

If you’re the sort of traveler who likes discovering the “next big thing” before everyone else, Ban Mai is the beach for you because two new resorts are already planned. The first is Ban Mai Beach Resort. The second is further in the future, however Marriott International owns the land next to Ban Mai Beach Resort, so you can figure it will be developed at some point.

According to Denis Lepine, CEO of Ban Mai Beach Resort, the eco-resort’s first phase is scheduled for completion by the end of 2012. This phase will include 8 villas, a lodge for backpackers, and a restaurant and bar. The goal of Ban Mai Beach Resort’s management is to combine a luxurious beach destination with environmental and social sustainability. They plan to do that through educating and employing local citizens, achieving Green Globe 21 certification, membership in the International Ecotourism Society, and eventually being entirely self-contained with an organic farm onsite. In keeping with their commitment to social sustainability Ban Mai Beach Resort will always allow beachgoers access whether or not they are hotel guests.
