Best Beach Rating
Crandon Park North Beach is a very romantic beach. With its picture perfect palm trees, soft sand, and seclusion, couples can enjoy each other’s company without outside distractions. You won’t be totally alone because of the lifeguards, but crowds will never bother you either.
The downside to this beach, however, is the vegetation that grows along the water’s edge and discourages all but the most intrepid water lover from entering the ocean. Nonetheless, the same vegetation that discourages humans from entering the water makes for great birding because birds come here to feed. Some of the birds you are likely to see include brown pelicans, great egrets, cormorants, oystercatchers, and royal terns to name a few.
