Alabama Beaches

Alabama’s Gulf of Mexico beaches are located in three areas – Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island.

Gulf Shores Alabama

The most popular AL beach destination is Gulf Shores . Gulf Shores’ beach is made almost entirely of quartz grains washed down from the Appalachian Mountains thousands of years ago. The result is 32 miles of soft, white sand and sparkling clear blue water. For years, Gulf Shores remained a little-known vacation treasure, but more and more people are discovering the area.

With attractions like pristine beaches, water sports, and championship golf, travelers are escaping to Gulf Shores’ beach on southern Alabama’s Gulf of Mexico coast.

Gulf Shores Rentals

Gulf Shores rentals include condo and single-family home rentals. The great thing about vacation rentals is they are often a good way to save money while traveling. Good sources of rentals are local real estate agents and online rental companies.

Orange Beach Alabama

Orange Beach is the easternmost community on Alabama’s Gulf Coast with Florida’s Perdido Key bordering it to the east and Gulf Shores to the west. In addition to wonderful white sand beaches and warm, crystal clear water, Orange Beach has many attractions for visitors. These include golf, water sports, dolphin watching cruises, fishing, shopping and eating.

An interesting piece of trivia is the fact that the tallest Ferris wheel in the Southeast — at 112 feet tall — is located at The Wharf in Orange Beach.

Orange Beach Condos

Just like Gulf Shores, Orange Beach has many choices for vacation rentals. Orange Beach condos can be rented on the beach as well as within walking and driving distance to the beach. The condo you choose is limited only by your preferences and budget.

Some of the more well-known online sites for vacation rentals are:

Dauphin Island Alabama

Dauphin Island sits at the entrance to Mobile Bay where the bay meets the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a historically significant location and home to Fort Gaines, an active fort during the Civil War.

Today Dauphin Island is known for its emphasis on “getting away from it all” to surround yourself with the beauty of nature. Envision bike paths, walking trails, miles of white sandy beaches and simplicity centered upon outdoor recreation and the environment. That’s Dauphin Island, Alabama.

To many joyful beach experiences!
