Warm Places to Visit in January

In my opinion, the best winter vacations are beach vacations. Therefore, my winter vacation ideas are all places where it’s warm enough to go to the beach in January. Unfortunately that knocks out everywhere in the continental US except south Florida and the Florida Keys.

Cheap Getaways
Cheap getaways from the US to warm places to visit in January are by necessity fairly close by. That eliminates all those places south of the equator where it’s summer in January such as Australia and New Zealand. However, it doesn’t rule out destinations in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. An exceptionally good website for cheap, warm places to visit in January is cheapcaribbean.com. Mexico is included in the website’s destination choices.
Inexpensive Weekend Getaways
Taking a short cruise out of a US port is one of the most inexpensive warm weather January weekend getaways there is because cruises are all-inclusive. Ports in the continental US include these cities:

- Long Beach, CA
- Los Angeles, CA
- Miami, FL
