Have you ever noticed that food tastes better at the beach? I have. I can cook a hamburger at home and it’s good. But, if I cook the same burger at the beach, it’s delicious! Beach cooking can mean cooking on a grill or over an open fire, but either way I highly recommend it. Your taste buds will thank you.
Beach Food Ideas
Beach food runs the gamut from full beach meals that you cook at the beach to full beach meals that you bring from home to beach meals that are partially cooked at the beach and partially brought from home to beach snacks prepared on the beach or at home. The choice is totally up to you.
In my case, I prefer a combination of food prepared at home and at the beach because I don’t want to work too hard during my beach time. Easy vacation meals are my mantra. The foods I especially like cooked on the beach are meat, veggies, and desserts, like s’mores. Yum.

Wine and Food Festivals
If you’re love the beach and food, you’ll probably like wine and food festivals located at a beach. Two of the more well-regarded food and wine festivals in the U.S. are South Beach Wine and Food Festival (sometimes called Food and Wine Festival Miami) and Pebble Beach Food & Wine.
South Beach Wine and Food Festival
The South Beach Wine and Food Festival is sponsored by The Food Network and the Cooking Channel. It began as a one day festival in 1997 when it was called the Florida Extravaganza. Since then it’s grown exponentially into a five-day destination event. Many of The Food Network’s and Cooking Channel’s most well-loved personalities attend as well as other world renowned chefs and leaders of the culinary world.
Pebble Beach Food & Wine
What South Beach Wine and Food Festival is to the east coast, Pebble Beach Food & Wine is to the west coast. The festival matches “250 acclaimed wineries and 100 celebrity chefs to create a hedonistic four-day destination on one of the most picturesque strips of coastline in the world. Throughout the weekend you’ll enjoy intimate access to the pinnacle of culinary and wine talent at wine tastings, cooking demos, and some of the most exclusive, unique dining opportunities available in the world.”
